The Course of Awakening is designed to be a semester or yearlong course in which each class builds upon the previous one and people can explore the process of awakening in an in-depth way with others. These courses are designed to help introduce and support people in a simple way to the direct experience of Awake Awareness and the process of waking up from our mistaken identity, waking-in to life and waking-out to relationship and activity. This course will continue in the winter and spring of 2009. The classes are taught in a direct experiential way that will help each student develop a daily practice. Each class will include a talk, dialogue, meditation and inquiry.

Also, we are very excited by the availability of distance learning for this course. One Spirit's resources allow for podcasts of the audio portion of the program and transcripts, available online, for those who want to participate but are not located in New York City. Distance learning is included with registration and can be used by those who attend in person to follow up on the material, or to make up a class that they were unable to attend. (We recommend that you sign up to participate in person, even if there is a session you may have to miss.)

Out-of-class exercises, such as meditations and inquiries and writing, will be given to supplement the in-class discussion.
