Join Loch Kelly, M.Div, LCSW, meditation teacher, psychotherapist, and Mindful Glimpses App creator, for a two-day immersion workshop in EM+IFS.
Feb 7 & 8, 11am-4pm
Learn a proven set of tool and meditations to access your awake mind and authentic Self to heal your wounded parts with EM+IFS.
And discover how to bring the fruits of this realization into the world through effortless focus and flow.
For those of us awakening to Self, there’s a paradox. The awakeness we seek is always already here within us. At the same time, there’s a gradual process of unfolding that requires recognizing, realizing, embodying, and living from that awakening.
What makes EM+IFS different from other meditative traditions is that we don’t treat the ego as an illusion—something to fight or get rid of.
Instead, we unblend and awaken from mistaken identification with our ego manager part by thanking it for all its hard work. Then we go beyond even a positive Self-like part to discover Self essence. This is the move from psychological focus to a foundation of awake awareness.
So how do we integrate the relative parts of us—our protectors, managers, and exiles—and the absolute already awake dimension of who we are—the authentic Self?
This is the paradox of our task—waking up and growing up.
You see, awakeness is already here within each of us. At the same time, it’s hidden. Once we become grounded in awake awareness (Self essence), we then embody and include the psychological parts of our precious human life.
We have to grow up even after we wake up.
In my many years knowing and working with Loch Kelly, I feel that he is one of the clearest expressions of authentic awakened freedom and love that I know. -Adyashanti
During the workshop, we’ll dive deep into inner Self leadership and experientially answer questions like:
What is Self?
How do you access it?
How does it heal the wounded and burdened parts within us?
How do we operate in the world from Self Leadership?
In this two-day workshop, you’ll learn practical meditation tools of healing and awakening through a unique form of nondual Internal Family Systems or EM+IFS.
If you meditate then you’ve likely experienced the feeling of freedom from the small self or contracted ego. If you’ve experienced parts work before or worked with a therapist, you’ve already experienced the healing power of unblending to heal parts from Self.
This workshop will provide you with an essential missing link: How to consistently and confidently connect with your authentic Self and Awake Mind.
The outer focus of Self Leadership is the ability to effortlessly focus and flow. We’re not concentrating from a part. Rather, we’re focusing from the open and connected ground of Self Leadership—similar to being in a deep flow state.
Instead of narrowing your focused attention to one point, you have the ability to open to the awareness within you that’s already calm and can effortlessly focus on the task at hand.
In this model, the starting point and ending point is effortless focus. This is an alternative way of being and doing for people who struggle with concentration.
You’ll learn how to calm the body and mind through open focus rather than narrow focus. This is the basis of Effortless Focus & Flow.
My first book, Shift Into Freedom, took me nine years to complete. It often felt like an uphill battle, requiring intense effort and self-discipline. I had some dyslexia and ADHD since childhood.
By the time I wrote my second book, The Way of Effortless Mindfulness, I deliberately used the principles of Effortless Focus, shifting into awake awareness to do the work instead of forcing my attention.
This time, I finished the entire book in nine months—a process that felt fluid, creative, and deeply enjoyable. In the process, I understood that Outer Self Leadership is defined by effortless focus and flow.
Effortless Focus has also been a life-changing resource during difficult times. After I developed Long Covid, I struggled with severe brain fog. Sometimes, I couldn’t organize my thoughts or remember what I was about to say.
But when I had to teach an online event, I discovered something incredible. If I tried to think my way through it, I couldn’t. But if I shifted into Awake Mind and Flow Consciousness and simply let the words arise naturally, everything flowed effortlessly. My mind reorganized itself, and I could access information without strain.
This experience solidified my understanding that our greatest intelligence is already available beyond the thinking mind—it just needs space to emerge. I also noticed during this time of shelter in place with my wife, Paige, that these skills allowed me to see the parts of me that would arise as activated and be with them and Paige. As a result, we emotionally grew closer and more in love.
Loch will lead you through a potent skill-building mix of theory, guided practice, and reflection including lectures, mindful glimpses, Q&A, and guided meditations.
You get lifetime access to all video replays, guided meditations, resources, and bonus materials—the entire course is yours to keep forever.
“Loch offers his contemporary ways to ‘glimpse’ our awake nature immediately and heal our wounded parts. When Loch and I have taught together, I have found, for myself and students, that Loch’s practices are amazingly effective.”
Richard Schwartz, Phd, IFS Founder
Self is not a part. Self is not located in one place. And Self’s essence is not thought, image, or energy based.
Waking up is simple, but it’s rarely easy. Most likely, you’ve experienced the frustration of making the subtle but momentous shift into the freedom of awake awareness and then “losing it” or not knowing if you have it and then doubting it.
Some common challenges we’ll address related to Waking Up:
EM+IFS brings together the best of ancient wisdom and researched-based meditation with IFS and parts-based psychology. As the only nondual meditation system that integrates IFS, it offers you a unique set of life-changing tools including…

“The view that Self is within everyone and the discovery of a method of accessing it, often remarkably quickly, and establishing its inner leadership, even in severely diagnosed and traumatized clients, is the biggest contribution of the IFS model.” ~Dick Schwartz

In this training, you’ll learn how to navigate through the Six Locations of Self.
Richard Schwartz speaks about Self in many different ways and uses the concepts of Self Energy and Self Leadership. Loch adds Self Essence and Self Embodiment to the mix in describing the journey from ego manager to Self Leadership and when talking about the different markers of Self in IFS.
Self Essence (Awake Mind) is the way we experience Self with awake awareness or pure Self. This is the authentic fundamental nature of who we are.
Self Embodiment (Unity Mind) is also called Same Taste, Being, and Inter-Being. It’s the experience of the union of formless awareness and embodiment.
In this immersive course, we’re going to learn the territory. And just as Dick Schwartz has elegantly mapped out parts, Loch will teach you how to know and clearly distinguish Self in your own experience.

This workshop does not include an introduction to IFS or Effortless Mindfulness, and it assumes a basic knowledge of Loch Kelly’s teachings. This will allow you to work in depth with the obstacles on your path from the always already-free ground of Self-Leadership. Although the EM+IFS series is not sequential, EM+IFS has more introductory content and if you’re new to EM+IFS, that’s probably a better starting point.
This training is not offering CE credits at this time.
The course sessions will include a mix of live talks, Q&A, applied IFS-style inquiry and exercises, and guided meditations.
