“In this groundbreaking guidebook, Loch Kelly offers contemporary versions of ancient practices . . . that can liberate our lives with meaning, connection, and clarity. What a beautiful book!” – Daniel J. Siegel, MD, author of Aware
“Loch Kelly’s guidance is clear, precise, and arises from a wise, caring heart. There are very few who can guide with such mastery. The Way of Effortless Mindfulness is truly a gift.” - Tara Brach, Ph.D., author of True Refuge
Loch, Scott and Nancy’s Tibetan Buddhist teacher Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche said: “There are two types of mindfulness: deliberate and effortless.” Deliberate mindfulness includes one-pointed focus and nonjudgmentally observing the changing contents of our mind and body. The second approach, effortless mindfulness, shifts from focusing on the contents to discovering the context, an awareness that is already awake and free of suffering.
We can begin with deliberate mindfulness as a good foundation, or we can start with effortless mindfulness. Effortless mindfulness is an advanced yet simple, next, natural stage of mindfulness. Rather than concentrating to calm and focus your mind, we will learn to intentionally shift into awake awareness, which is already calm, intelligent, and able to effortlessly focus. The primary practice is small glimpses, many times in the midst of your day. In this daylong retreat, we will learn how awake awareness is energetically embodied and open-hearted, so that we can experience wellbeing and live a compassionate life.
Loch will be available to sign his new book after the daylong.REGISTER HERE
