If you meditate then you’ve likely experienced the feeling of freedom from the small self or contracted ego. If you’ve experienced parts work before or worked with an IFS therapist, you’ve already tasted the promise of the IFS model.

Through this training and practice, you’ll learn how to confidently connect with Self and the different parts of your mind. Loch will guide you, step-by-step, through a powerful protocol that you can practice on your own. 

This series of experiential steps is designed to lead you from your Ego Manager into the calm, clear, compassionate heart of Self-Leadership.

Indeed, in EM+IFS, we start with the solution—Self—before working with parts. Why? Because we can’t heal our parts from our parts. We can only heal parts from Self.

Healing Your Parts

In this training, you’ll discover how to bring the natural healing qualities of Self to your troubling inner voices, compulsive distractions, and feelings of vulnerability, inadequacy, and overwhelm. 

We can unburden these parts of the psyche when we approach them from the Self, with its natural respect, patience, and boundless compassion. Self loves and offers protection to all parts of us.

A Note from Loch Kelly

Have you longed and strived to access your authentic Self, but find that it still feels elusive?

This is more common than you might imagine. Most people struggle to experience Self—not because they lack desire or commitment but because they don’t know where to look or what to look with. Hoping that Self organically arises isn’t always available to all of us. So, what do we do then?

One reason we can’t find, see, or understand Self is because Self is not an “it.” Self is not an object or thing that can be seen, heard, touched, smelled, tasted, or known by thought. It isn’t an emotion, image, belief, thought, sensation, or even energy.

I like to say that trying to know Self with thought is like trying to use our eyes to hear music.

But you CAN know Self. Just not in the way you might think :).

You see, IFS is a revolutionary approach to psychology. And it’s amazing when it comes to the subtle and cathartic world of parts work. It has an elegant and detailed map of parts but not such a clear way to access and experience your ever-present Self.

And as you know, Self is an essential ingredient when doing effective parts work and cultivating a harmonious inner system.

That’s where Effortless Mindfulness (EM) comes in. 

In the same way that IFS helps you access parts, EM gives you the tools to effortlessly shift into Self.

How is this possible? In this weekend workshop, I’m not only going to show you. I’m going to teach you how to do it yourself.

Navigating the 6 Locations of Self

In this training, you’ll learn how to navigate through the Six Locations of Self.

Richard Schwartz speaks about Self in many different ways and uses the concepts of Self Energy and Self Leadership. Loch adds Self Essence and Self Embodiment to the mix in describing the journey from ego manager to Self Leadership and when talking about the different markers of Self in IFS.

The 11 i's of Self Essence

Self-essence (Awake Mind) is the way we experience Self with awake awareness or pure Self. This is the authentic fundamental nature of who we are.

The 9 S's of Self Embodiment

Self Embodiment (Unity Mind) is also called Same Taste, Being, and Inter-Being. It’s the experience of the union of formless awareness and embodiment.

This Training Is for You If

  • You’re a coach, therapist, or healing professional who wants to embody Self-leadership for yourself and model it for your clients.

What this Training Is and Isn’t

In this two-day immersion, we’re going to learn the territory. And just as Dick Schwartz has elegantly mapped out parts, Loch will teach you how to know and clearly distinguish Self in your own experience.

In this training, we’re going to:

  • Work with your protectors and managers.
  • Shift out of managers to Self and be aware of whatever parts arise.
  • Create a safe space so all your scared or wounded parts can relax and heal.
  • Lightly touch on how to work with others but primarily this training will help you better learn your own inner territory and navigate your own consciousness.
 

In this training, we’re not going to:

  • Work to unburden exiles or do any deep early childhood therapeutic work.

This workshop does not include an introduction to IFS or Effortless Mindfulness, and it assumes a basic knowledge of Loch Kelly’s teachings. This will allow you to work in depth with the obstacles on your path from the always already-free ground of Self-Leadership.

This training is not offering CE credits at this time.

The course sessions will include a mix of live talks, Q&A, applied IFS-style inquiry and exercises, and guided meditations. 

No, we will provide replays for all sessions so you can take it at your own pace.

You will receive lifetime access to the course recordings and materials.

This workshop is fully online. You will need access to the internet and a computer or smart device to participate.
