Like mastering any new skill and habit, immersive and intensive practice is invaluable, giving you the space to cement all that you’ve gathered in your practice thus far while also tasting the fruits of your practice real-time in a supportive practice-accelerating space.
Loch is specifically tailoring this two-day retreat to more advanced practitioners who are familiar with the Effortless Mindfulness teachings and have tasted the promise and potential of Awake Aware Mind in their own direct experience.
What does that mean in this context?
Loch will be teaching not so much to our everyday minds but to the awareness that then becomes aware of itself. He’ll be relating not to the small self in each of us but to the already awake self within you to help catalyze that deeper and lasting shift into awake aware mind.
I’m Loch Kelly and I’m an award-winning author, meditation teacher, psychotherapist, and founder of the 501(c)(3) non-profit, Effortless Mindfulness Institute.
I’m on a mission to help you relieve suffering at its root and live from your basic goodness. We all deserve to live an awakened life (and I believe we can do just that, supported by a new form of advanced yet simple meditation and daily life practices).
I’m passionate about modernizing meditation, enhancing social engagement, and collaborating with neuroscientists to bring the best of science into proximity with the liberating potency of meditation.
In this live retreat, we’re going to focus on the three levels of mind that I refer to as: Awake Aware Mind, Unity Mind, and Heartmind. The goal is to help existing students of Effortless Mindfulness establish deeper flow and confidence in accessing and navigating these advanced levels of mind.
The third level of mind is Awake Aware Mind, which is foundational. Discovering this part of yourself is a unique and important marker, and one of the most exciting on the EM path. At this level, you realize the subtlest and most fundamental dimension of your consciousness—a wordless, silent, and alert space that is forever free from anxiety, worry, and terror.
The Fourth level of mind, called the Unity Mind, is where we come home from this pure awareness to a ground of interconnected and embodied presence. A presence that allows us to feel safe without scanning for danger in our everyday mind. It also allows us to bring the natural compassion of self-energy into our life and to the inner world of our parts.
In the fifth level of mind we encounter the Heartmind. This means living from a level of consciousness that I call awake loving flow. Like flow consciousness, you’re able to create and relate inside and outside in a way that feels safe, friction-free, and yet highly functional. Rooted in the Heartmind, you feel creative and bursting with inspired clarity about the purpose of your life.
Your interactive sessions with Loch Kelly will take place live and online via Zoom. If you can’t attend live, self-paced replays will be available after the retreat. You’ll access all your replays, recordings, and related materials in your online course area.

No problem! If you can’t make it to any of the sessions, you’ll have access to all the replays after the retreat in your course area. You can revisit those anytime, anywhere, with lifetime access. We do encourage you to attend as many sessions as your schedule permits, but we recognize that life happens. We designed this retreat to benefit all who can attend live and those who cannot.
Note that the retreat replays will be available within 14 days after the live retreat. You will not receive the replays immediately after the retreat ends. Thank you for understanding.
This virtual retreat is designed for more seasoned practitioners of Effortless Mindfulness. You are welcome to join, but you may find the practices and content challenging without some background in Effortless Mindfulness.
