Dates: Mar 16 – May 4

Now that you understand the map, it’s time to fully embody the method and internalize the markers.

In Effortless Mindfulness Level Two, you’ll graduate from learning it to living it.

In Effortless Mindfulness Level One, you were experientially introduced to the map, method, and markers of the Effortless Mindfulness Awakening Process. In particular, EM Level One focused on the map.

EM Level Two narrows the lens and hones in on the details of the method you’ll need to establish yourself in Awake Mind, Unity Mind, and Heart Mind.

In Level Two, we’re going to focus on the method and markers. The key to embodying this new stage of life is to find the doorways and learning style that are best for you.

Why is this important? Because each of us has a different learning style. And every learning style features different supports and different obstacles  to awakening.

In Effortless Mindfulness Level 2

You’ll begin the process of creating a personalized meditation manual that will help you identify and focus on the doorways and obstacles that are particular to you and your learning style.

And then Loch will help you clarify the methods and markers you need to realize each stage of the unfolding and overcome those obstacles based on your learning style.

Unlike other systems, which often feature a one-size fits all approach, the Effortless Mindfulness Awakening Process shows you how to open the distinct doorways to awakening that best align with your personal learning style.

In this training, you will learn:

  • How to distinguish thought-based learning from awareness-based learning
  • How to confidently stop checking back with the Thinker
  • How to identify and optimize the doorways that best align with your learning style
  • How to ensure that you don’t get stuck anywhere in the awakening process: the mindful witness, blissful experiences, the void, etc
  • How to avoid state-chasing and spiritual bypassing
  • How to identify the triggers that take you out of awakening
  • How to return when you lose access and then remain and integrate with everyday consciousness

To help you live the Effortless Mindfulness method, we’ve combined these resources in EM Level Two:

Live Teacher-Led Trainings with Loch Kelly

In these live sessions, you’ll begin the process of creating a personalized meditation manual that will help you identify and focus on the doorways and obstacles that are particular to you and your learning style. Loch will help you clarify the methods and markers you need to realize each stage of the unfolding and overcome those obstacles based on your learning style. Get ready to learn and practice Glimpses real-time in a supportive community space.

Peer Group Connection

Part of growing a fruitful Glimpsing practice and going deeper on this path is staying connected with your fellow practitioners. You’ll get to practice and integrate with your EM Training Cycle cohort throughout this program in peer groups. Tap into compassionate accountability, consistency, mutual support and belonging on your own path. Not only that, but you’ll have a space to share about your practice and hear others’ practice reports – making this experience even more gratifying and meaningful. Build relationships with fellow practitioners and even potential strategic partners along the path!

Integration Opportunities

Loch Kelly is offering live sessions before the course starts to answer your questions and support you with integration leading up to EM Level Two. This connective tissue is here to help you maintain momentum and keep deepening your EM practice.

Self-Paced Mindful Glimpses + Resources

To help you embody the method, we are providing you with Mindful Glimpses to support your daily practice. You’ll also receive live session replays and downloadable resources to review anytime, anywhere.

Retreats & Immersive Practice

EM Level Two includes two virtual day retreats. Immersive practice is an integral part of embodying and living the method. Like mastering any new skill and habit, immersive and intensive practice is invaluable, giving you the space to cement all that you learn in the training and taste the fruit of the practice real-time in a supportive practice-accelerating space. This is integral to stabilizing your new insights and operating system in Awake Mind.

For Helping Professionals: Strengthen Your skills and Make a Greater Impact (with less burnout)

If you’re a mental health professional, meditation teacher/coach, or healing arts practitioner, EM Level Two will help you show up resiliently for your clients while diversifying your tool-kit.

Here’s what’s in store for you:

  • Embody a meditative system that integrates Internal Family Systems with a nondual approach (bringing together psychology and ancient wisdom under one roof)
  • Strengthen your self-leadership (so that you can remain grounded while facilitating 1.1 and group experiences)
  • Work with your own parts (so that you can help others from a place of higher capacity)
  • Elevate your equanimity
  • Learn how to manage your own sensory system (which directly helps you manage your energy as you support individuals and groups on their own healing journeys)
  • Decrease burnout simply by stabilizing in Awake Awareness
  • Master self-management (so that you can have healthy boundaries with clients)
  • Role model the way and make a greater impact through embodying the EM principles
  • Prepare for the third and final stage of the EM Training Track – the facilitator certification track (we must first embody the system before we can share it with others)

For Meditation Practitioners: Deepen Your Practice

EM Level Two is about shifting from learning the system to truly living it. If you’re interested in deepening your practice and integrating the method and markers into your whole life, then you’ll love EM Level Two.

Here’s what’s in store for you:

  • Prevent spiritual bypassing
  • Shift from sitting meditation to meditation in action
  • Learn how to live in the world from a ground of Awake Mind, Unity Mind, and Heart Mind
  • Tap into greater flow by integrating meditation and your emotional life
  • Learn how to not just access Awake Awareness, but return to embodied awake awareness anytime
  • Gain insight into the obstacles to your awakening, allowing you to feel more connected, compassionate, and clear
  • Embrace a custom approach that removes the guilt and shame

How is Level Two Different from Level One?

In level one, you experienced a broad introduction to the five levels of mind. And you were introduced to the map, method, and markers that define the Effortless Mindfulness Awakening Process. Most importantly, Level One focused primarily on the Map of Awakening.

Why? Because the first obstacle to awakening, for most of us, is the absence of a complete map. We all need a full map so we can heal, grow, and flourish at all the layers and levels of our consciousness. Without this full map we can get stuck half way in an eddy or cul-de-sac.

There are so many opportunities to get waylaid along the path. That’s why EM Level One provides you with numerous perspectives on the map. And the key point to remember is that awakening doesn’t stop with emptiness. It’s not just a blissful state experience. There’s so much more to it.

That’s where EM Level 2 comes in.

Without a full map, and without knowing it, most of us will stop short of the goal. We will:

  • Get caught in the mindful witness, working with the contents of consciousness on an incremental improvement path and working at the relative levels. At this stage of detached witness, we don’t move beyond symptom relief.
  • Mistake subtle body energetic empathy for Awake Awareness-based Self Energy. So feel bliss and connection but then get high on love, overwhelmed, or burnt out.
  • Get stuck in the void of non-doing or no-self and lose clarity around what’s next. You’ve made progress but then you stop and your practice dries up.
  • Keep going back to thought for a second opinion instead of discovering the not-knowing that knows from Awake Awareness.
  • Get trapped in the powerful experience of Pure Awareness and freedom from relative suffering but don’t embody it. You get it and lose it and end up in an intellectual bypass or spiritual ego.
  • Make progress on the path but don’t do the psychological and shadow work and so get triggered back and can’t embody awakening.

The Method & Markers - Identifying Your Doorways of Awakening

Build Your Custom Approach

Now that you know the map, we’re going to focus on the method, which is all about learning styles and deepening your experiential understanding.

How do you live it?

The short answer: Make it your own, and understand the territory that you’re practicing within.

Because, it’s crucial that we don’t confuse the map for the territory. The map is essential, but the territory is where the action is. That’s where we put all this into practice.

For that, we need to focus on the method and the markers.

At the same time, Level Two will give you more variety and practice options so you can deepen your experiential understanding of the path while clarifying the specific doorways that open your mind and heart.

For example, we will explore the principles and practices to dis-identify with or let go of our everyday ego mind and safely shift into our Awake consciousness.

We will explore:

  • Who or what lets go?
  • How do we begin and what does this feel like?
  • And what do we let go into that makes all the difference?
  • And finally, how do we confirm the new normal and learn to reside and respond from here?

And as you start to hone in on the learning styles that work best for you, you’ll begin to understand that you don’t need to master every glimpse or doorway presented. That’s a popular misunderstanding. In fact, you only need to become familiar with the ones that work for you. Why?

It Only Take One Doorway

Because it only takes one doorway–one shift–to untie the existential knots that bind us. And in the end, the Effortless Mindfulness Awakening Process is not about higher state experiences.

It’s about the Markers and Method that will help you untie the knots of existential discontent so you can fully inhabit Awake Mind, Unity Mind, and Heart Mind. And if you can untie just one of those knots, it can change everything!

When we untie the knots we return to our natural condition which is not many minds but the nature of mind or simply being. From here we are embodied and can do from Being as we get a feel for trust in Self leadership.

The Method - Moving from Recognizing to Realizing

Key to the method of Effortless mindfulness is the shift from Recognizing to Realizing. What does that mean?

It’s the same as shifting our base of operation from Everyday Mind to Awake Mind. And this will be a primary focus in EM2.

In EM1, Loch was teaching to your Everyday Mind, and you had experiences of the 5 Levels of Mind from that ground. In EM2, Loch speaks directly to your already Awake Mind.

Here are some of the essential hallmarks of the EM Method:

  1. Direct: EM is a direct practice. Rather than fixing the problem first to get to the solution, we go to the solution to fix the problem.
  2. Awake: Your conceptual mind is not inquiring. The pointers you learn are for your already awake mind to know, be, and then move and do from being.
  3. Levels: We don’t focus on what’s arising. Instead we focus on the level of mind it’s arising to. That changes the experience of what’s arising.
  4. Untying: It is not about creating new meditation states, rather it’s about untying existential knots.
  5. Transcend and Include: This path is not one of negation or deconstruction or stopping at no-self/centerless/headless or detached pure awareness or witness consciousness. It’s a path of transcendence and inclusion. Effortless Mindfulness is a “via positiva”path—an inquiry method leading to direct experience of and from.
  6. Calming: Start with the body, everyday mind, and subtle body/mind to calm and appreciate.
  7. No Bad Parts: We don’t aim to renounce, fight, suppress, judge or even initially change any of our exiled and protective parts. There are no bad parts.
  8. Orientation: Not only is awake awareness within you, it is the ultimate subject who we’re asking to move, glimpse itself, know, and realize. Shifting from Recognition to Realization is key.

The Markers - Workshopping the Essential Steps

There are also some essential steps and distinctions—markers—you need to internalize as you build your nondual practice and process for awakening. And in EM Level Two, we’re going to really workshop these markers.

For example, how do you confidently begin to distinguish thought-based learning from awareness-based learning? How do you stop checking back with the Thinker and uproot the deep habit of thought-based learning so that it becomes an active choice instead of your default?

We’re going to slow down the tape right at the point of contact with those markers, approaching them from different angles by using different doorways for different learning types so you confidently download and start to embody these shifts in consciousness.

Effortless Mindfulness + IFS Parts Work

I practice and teach an original synthesis of IFS-style parts work and Effortless Mindfulness. Taken together, these two models of Mind and Self offer a powerful path of healing that leads you to the deepest levels of integration.

What is parts work? And why is it such a transformative healing modality when integrated with Effortless Mindfulness?

The IFS model of parts work describes the nature of the human psyche as organizing into subpersonalities, or parts, that all have Self as their source.

The approach is not to judge, minimize, or get rid of these parts, but instead to notice and lovingly embrace all of our parts from our interconnected Self, which is also within all parts.

This creates a middle path between most psychotherapies that regard a healthy ego as the goal and some meditative paths that call ego or small self an illusion.

Effortless mindfulness helps us access Self and the nature of Mind, directly giving us a new view and wise capacity.

As we get to know and distinguish our parts from Self—even the most difficult ones—we can discover that all parts are looking for love, and there are no bad parts.

In our growing up and waking up, we begin by recognizing and thanking our protective parts as a way to overcome reactivity and find the natural calm needed to shift into our ever-present Awake Aware Mind.

But how do you actually give that love to these difficult and burdened parts? This is where the fusion of parts work and effortless mindfulness is so effective.

Having collaborated and co-taught with Dick Schwartz, I’ve combined IFS insights with the liberating wisdom practices of EM to facilitate access to Self—the whole of who we are beyond any part.

Mindful glimpses give us the tools for embodying and living an awakened life. And I find that this is the most effective way of healing our shadows—those unconscious, repressed, or denied parts.

It’s also the key to embody awakening. The goal of both IFS and EM is to upgrade our sense of identity and mind to live a life of Self leadership with the ability to heal inner parts and live from an awake loving flow to create and relate to others.

In EM Level Two, you’ll go even deeper in parts work and experience how EM can help you further heal and unburden your parts on the path to fundamental wholeness, awakening, and flourishing.

✔️ An effortless path to greater peace, clarity and calm

With Effortless Mindfulness, the focus is not on developing the skill of mental stability or concentration (which is the defining feature of many mainstream mindfulness systems). Rather, you’re shifting OUT of an unstable stage of adult development into a calm, clear and knowing awareness that can become the foundation from which you live more skillfully

What Are Mindful Glimpses?

During this training, you’ll take your Glimpsing practice to the next level.

These glimpses serve as your doorways to deeper levels of awareness that yield clarity, confidence, and buoyant compassion. In Level Two, you’ll gain clarity on the Glimpses that best match your individual learning style.

Most importantly, they enable you to discover and gain access to your Awake Aware Mind—the hidden but ever-present dimension within us that can unlock your higher potentials.

A Glimpse is not an altered state or a peak experience, but a “peek” into our true nature. Glimpses help you break the trance of the ego mind so you can seamlessly shift into the natural already awake condition inherent within each of us.

Most deliberate mindfulness practices require you to sit quietly and take time to calm your mind by concentrating or waiting for it to clear. In contrast, Glimpses enable immediate access—like changing the channel of your mind. They collapse the time needed between stabilization, awakening, and expression. You can even practice it in an agitated state and get immediate results.

How is that possible?

Because Glimpsing practice immediately and intentionally shifts you from your current state of mind into an already-awake, already-installed consciousness that’s effortlessly aware.

After this transformative awakening experience, Mindful Glimpses provide the process, path, and practice of getting comfortable with this new holistic way of seeing and being. In Level One, you surveyed a few of the Glimpses. In Level Two, you’ll evolve your Glimpsing practice to help you live Awake in the world.

We begin with our current small and thought-based way of knowing and doing, and then we’re going to shift into an awareness-based, spacious, interconnected, and open-hearted way of being and seeing.

Through Mindful Glimpses, you learn to shift and flow through the five levels of mind, pivoting from the mundane mind of daily life to the subtle dimension of your embodied and wise Heart Mind.

Our invitation is to take your practice from exclusively focusing on stabilization to a whole new level and depth. This system helps our clients experience a range of long-term benefits, including greater and more consistent creative flow, heightened focus, more inner peace, emotional empowerment and the capacity to go much deeper in their practice (not from a place of force, but from the roots of inner safety and compassion).

Yes, each session is recorded and posted in your course area to review or take on your own time.

No problem! If you can’t make it to any of the sessions, you’ll have access to all the replays the next day in your course platform. You can revisit those anytime, anywhere, with lifetime access. We do encourage you to attend as many sessions as your schedule permits, but we recognize that life happens. We designed this program to benefit all who can attend live and those who cannot.

You’ll have access to all the video recordings, downloadable supplemental materials, guided and Mindful Glimpses – all housed in your course platform upon signing up.

Yes, anyone who wishes to get the facilitator certification will need to take EM Level One & Two before taking the EM Facilitator Training. However, if you can’t make it live, you can take the course at your own pace.

Loch has designed this training course to benefit new and seasoned practitioners alike.

For more seasoned practitioners, this training gives you a way to shift from sitting meditation to meditation in action.

EM Level Two will provide you with a deeper foundation for living in the world from a ground of Awake Mind, Unity Mind, and Heartmind.

EM Level Two will help advanced practitioners to integrate meditation and your emotional life so you feel more grounded with a deeper capacity to flow in your life.

Advanced practitioners will learn unique tools to apply at deeper levels to seamlessly return to embodied awake awareness anytime.

Finally, you’ll gain insight into the obstacles to your awakening, allowing you to feel more connected, compassionate, and clear.

Great question. Learning how to manage your own sensory system can directly help you manage your energy as you support individuals and groups on their own healing journeys. Being able to track your parts during a client session, or notice your own patterns emerge as you serve others – this is key in order to make a sustainable impact and prevent burnout over the long term.

If you’re a helping or healing professional, you’ll walk away from EM Level One understanding how to directly access your true nature.

Not only that, you’ll also learn the meditative tools for mastering self-management, so that you can effectively hold space for others on their healing journeys (without burning out). The more you know yourself (and all your parts), as well as how to manage your system skillfully anytime, anywhere, the more you’ll widen and strengthen the space for others to heal, learn and fully be themselves in your container.

Yes, Level Two and Three include a non-facilitator training track. Which is simply to say that you are not obliged to share this. As the saying goes, the best way to learn something for yourself is to teach it. So even if you don’t plan to share the EM Awakening Process with others, Levels Two and Three will help you customize your learning experience and profoundly deepen your own embodiment of these teachings.

The three part cycle of the Effortless Mindfulness Training Cycle moves from Learning It to Living It to Sharing It

In EM Level Two, you will spend a lot of time learning how to embody Self-Leadership and Awake Loving Flow.

And You’ll learn which doorways work best to help you achieve that. Only then, when you’ve really workshopped and customized the teaching for yourself, will you be equipped to start sharing it with others.

In EM Two, you will actively build the confidence and competence in this system that’s required to effectively share it with others.

You can learn about Level Three and the full Effortless Mindfulness Training Cycle here.

If this program doesn’t meet your needs, please email [email protected] to request a cancellation and refund by January 15th at 5pm ET. This will give you an opportunity to attend the first live practice/integration call with Loch Kelly.

After January 15th, refunds are no longer available. Thank you for understanding.

Please note that the live session dates are subject to change, and you will receive advance notice of any scheduling changes via email.
